Abstract

Objective: To analyze the opinion of medical students of the Medical School of the interior in São Paulo’s state city and managers on the new Public Policies for the training of qualified physicians to the Health Unique System needs. Method: The study was conducted at the medical school and Public Health`s Secretary and the approach used was quantitative and qualitative. The quantitative analysis included a questionnaire application. The statistical treatment used was the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Subjects of the quantitative research: 13 managers and 182 students from first to fifth grade. The qualitative research counted on interviews in all managers (13) and a sampling by draw of the population above of students. The analysis used the proposal of the Collective Subject Discourse associated to the Qualiquantisoft software. Results: The vast majority of the interviewees were in favor of changes in medical training so that a newly trained physician can act adequately in the Health Unique System. Most of the interviewees believe that at least 30% of the hours of medical internship in the undergraduate course should be developed in the Primary Care and Emergency and Emergency Service.
