Nutritional status and socioeconomic conditions of pregnant women attended at a Family Health Unit

Abstract

Introduction: When considering the relevance of carrying out nutritional guidance in prenatal care and the fact that the nutritionist is an important implantation of educational actions for the promotion and recovery of health, his participation in primary care is essential, despite being small and scarce studies on the topic. Objective: identify and describe the nutritional profile, as well as habits that can elevate and / or worsen the clinical status of pregnant women in any gestational period. Method: quantitative descriptive research, carried out from August 2016 to April 2017 in Basic Family Health Units in the city of Campo Grande / MS. The population consisted of a non-probabilistic sample of pregnant women in any gestational period. Calculated with a 95% confidence interval and a 5% error margin, there were 25 refusals totaling n = 94. Results: 94 pregnant women were evaluated, of which 46.8% were at pre-pregnancy nutritional risk; 63.8% with nutritional risk factors and lifestyle habits during pregnancy. Conclusion: The analyzed data demonstrate that most women started pregnancy with some nutritional deviation, reinforcing the importance of health surveillance for the identification and monitoring of women with gestational risks, as well as emphasizing the importance that health professionals have in the evaluation process health status in this period.
